A sad footnote

| Monday, June 17, 2002

In the May 2002 issue of Land Line featured a story titled "Knights still ride the road" about Clark Freight Lines Inc. driver Jack Armstrong and his efforts to save the life of a truckdriver having a heart attack.

On June 6, 2002, Armstrong passed away, himself the victim of an untimely heart attack. In a sad and ironic twist of fate, Armstrong died sitting alone in the cab of his truck, on the side of the road at night on a lonely stretch of highway. "This time there was no ' knight' to stop and offer help," said Joel House of Clark Freight Lines.

Armstrong was 51, married with one daughter. Ironically, his daughter's bridal shower was originally planned for the day on which her father was buried.
