Investigators are asking for the public's help in the disappearance of a trucking repair company owner who has been missing since May 2. John E. Maier, 34, of Medford, OR, was last seen leaving his business, Premier Trucking, in a white pickup truck.

Taylor County, OR, Sheriff, Donald Wright told Land Line he now suspects foul play. "Various rumors have circulated placing Maier in Minnesota and even as far east as Wisconsin," he said. "We are actively looking for him, and there is a new lead. A 2000 Ford F150 extended pickup, maroon in color may have been involved."

Authorities are now asking truckers or any motorist to keep alert for either of the pickup trucks. "Based on current information, we suspect he could have been killed and his truck dumped in a truckstop or field somewhere - not necessarily in Oregon.

Maier is 5-foot-7, 140 pounds and has short blond hair, blue eyes and generally wears gold rim glasses. Anyone with information should call the Taylor County Sheriff's Department at (715) 748-2200 or the Taylor County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-892-7463.
