Weekend construction closes stretches of Detroit freeways

Road crews near Detroit will close eastbound and westbound I-94, as well as northbound and southbound I-75 during parts of the weekend for road and bridge repair.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday and ending Monday at 5 a.m., eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between I-75 and I-96. The eastbound detour follows eastbound I-96 to northbound I-75, to northbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue), back to eastbound I-94. The westbound detour follows southbound I-75 to westbound I-96, back to westbound I-94.

Bridge work will close northbound I-75 from Northline Road in Southgate to the Rouge River Bridge in Detroit. The closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday and end at 5 a.m. Saturday. Southbound I-75 will be closed from the Rouge River Bridge to Goddard Road in Southgate beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and ending at 6 p.m. Sunday. Posted detours utilize M-85.
