Texas tollway plans move forward

Construction is slated to begin early next year on a Central Texas toll road that will serve as an alternative route for travelers. The new stretch of roadway is designed to entice truckers and other travelers to avoid toll-free Interstate 35 and other area highways.

Texas 130 will bypass I-35 east of Austin. When complete, the 90-mile toll road will extend from Georgetown to Seguin, but could eventually reach from Dallas-Fort Worth to San Antonio. The project is expected to take seven years to be complete.
