How many hours a day does your child spend in school, sleeping or just having fun? Now they can record their daily activities just like a truckdriver. The Trucker Buddy log book divides a student¹s day into play, sleep, school and transportation time. While they keep track of their change of duty status, they will not only be learning more about a professional driver¹s job, but they will be enhancing their math skills in the process.
The Trucker Buddy log book was designed by Trucker Buddies (and OOIDA members), Karen and Harvey Zander, who created their own log books for each student in their 4th grade class at Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The Zanders showed their concept to Ellen Voie, the organization's Executive Director, who felt that this item would be great for students in the Trucker Buddy program or those with family members in the trucking industry.
The log book will be available for $1.25 each at the Mid America Trucking show at the Trucker Buddy booth 682. They can also be ordered by calling 866-SHOP TBI or from the Trucker Buddy store at http://www.truckerbuddy.org.
Trucker Buddy¹s mission is to promote the transportation industry by bringing students and drivers together through sharing their experiences from the road. There are currently 4600 classrooms in the Trucker Buddy organization, with students across the globe corresponding with a professional driver who volunteers his or her time to the program.
