CHEP opens innovation center, addresses product handling challenges

As part of its continuing effort to improve the process of delivering product through the supply chain, Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool (CHEP) recently opened a second innovation center. The new facility, located in Davenport, FL, is adjacent to the company's service center and supports new product and technology development for CHEP.

The innovation center boasts a 12,000 square foot validation lab and a 2,500 square foot development space. The validation and testing equipment installed at the facility include a precision drop tester, compression tester, vibration tester, inclined impact tester and two environmental chambers.CHEP is an international pallet and container pooling company servicing shippers and receivers, supplying its customers with pallets and reusable containers. The first innovation center was opened in 1997 in Barcelona, Spain.
