TruckDriver.com has announced its support of Trucker Buddy International Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping educate elementary school children by matching professional truckdrivers and classes to develop a relationship through correspondence.

The TruckDriver.com web site helps drivers find a carrier that will align with their personal and professional goals. Carriers can receive driver applications to assist in their recruitment efforts by working with the site to process information provided by company drivers and owner-operators. Drivers can submit their information to dozens of carriers with the click of a button.

"The exposure we can provide Trucker Buddy will help the organization secure needed drivers to correspond with waiting classes," said Brian Thomforde, president of TruckDriver.com. "We see Trucker Buddy as a way for drivers to be involved with the children in our great country, especially now when they need reassurance and some sort of normalcy. TruckDriver.com has a very large audience of truckdrivers who could become new Trucker Buddies."

"There is a great need for additional drivers, with over 200 classrooms currently waiting for a Trucker Buddy of their own," said Ellen Voie, executive director at Trucker Buddy. "We are pleased to have the access to drivers that TruckDriver.com can provide."

Currently, there are 4,700 classes around the world that correspond with Trucker Buddy drivers, who volunteer their time and effort to enhance the students' writing, math, and geography skills. In addition, the number of teachers and students waiting for a driver continues to grow.

This relationship adds TruckDriver.com to the number of industry-related corporations pledging their support of the Trucker Buddy program. In addition to DCSTrucks.com, a Platinum level sponsor and Gold Level supporters, OOIDA, Delphi, Midnight Cowboy Radio Network and Caterpillar, TruckDriver.com joins ArvinMeritor, AT&T, Kenworth, Truckload Carriers Assn. and Wal-mart Foundation as Silver Level contributors. Trucker Buddy is an IRS designated charitable organization, supported solely by the donations of sponsors.
