A truckdriver was shot and killed Dec. 14 from a bullet that struck him while driving along Interstate 45 near Willis, TX. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information.

Roger Dale Swinner, of Alvin, TX, was found inside his truck with an apparent gunshot wound between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. He had been struck in the middle of the chest.

He was hauling half of a double-wide trailer for Wayne's Mobile Home Transport, while another driver followed with the other half. The pair was driving near the Walker County line when the second driver noticed Swinner's truck drifting over onto the right-hand shoulder before coming to a stop in a ditch.

The driver stopped to check on Swinner and found him slumped over and bleeding from the chest. A bullet hole was found in the bottom driver's-side corner of the windshield, appearing to have been caused by a large-caliber weapon, possibly a handgun or rifle.

Swinner died a short time later. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867) or the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at (936) 760-5800.
