Highway named for former Dallas Cowboys coach

Texas officials paid tribute last week to legendary Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry, unveiling new signs renaming the old Dallas-Fort Worth Turnpike in his honor. The designation is for Interstate 30 between Interstate 35E in Dallas and I-35W in Fort Worth. The green-and-white road signs include a picture of Landry's signature fedora.

Landry passed away in February 2000 at age 75 after fighting leukemia for nine months. He was the Cowboys' first coach and for 29 years led them to 270 victories and two Super Bowl championships.
