NC closer to getting toll roads

| Wednesday, October 10, 2001

The Tar Heel State's legislature could create a state Turnpike Authority that would have powers to build toll roads and collect fees from drivers who use them. HB644 passed the house Oct. 4, after being amended, rejected and reconsidered. Now, it's on to the Senate, where it has been referred to the Committee on Finance.
