Volvo Trucks North America announce reorganization

Volvo Trucks North America Inc. has announced a major reorganization eliminating a layer of senior sales management. The company said the move is to better align it with the organization of its parent company, Volvo Global Trucks.

Four commercial functional areas will report directly to Michel Gigou, president and CEO of Volvo Trucks North America.

Truck Sales and Distribution: Bill Dawson has been appointed senior vice president of sales. Reporting to Dawson will be the regional vice presidents of sales, national accounts, sales administration and dealer development. Dawson was formerly vice president of customer support.

Truck Marketing: Susan Alt will remain in her position as vice president of marketing, but she will now report directly to Gigou. Reporting to Alt will be advertising, product marketing, market research and analysis, Volvo Power, sales engineering and order entry.

Customer Support: Harold Wiegel, formerly of Mack Trucks, will move to Greensboro, NC, to take on the position of vice president of customer support. The entire service support and service training team will report to Wiegel.

Parts Sales and Marketing: Dwight McAlexander, general manager of parts operations, will serve as the interim leader of this area until a vice president is named. Dealer and national parts sales and parts marketing now will report to McAlexander.
