Shell adds synthetic oil to its Rotella T Line

| Wednesday, January 23, 2002

The Shell line of lubricants is expanding to include its first fully synthetic heavy-duty engine oil. Rotella ® T Synthetic combines outstanding cold-temperature starting and advanced soot-handling capacity. It helps prolong engine life, even in extreme conditions.

Utilizing a new base oil technology, Shell says Rotella T Synthetic flows better than conventional oils under cold start conditions. This means the protective properties of the oil get to the parts more quickly, resulting in less wear on start-up and easier starting throughout the service period, with little to no viscosity breakdown.

The new synthetic meets virtually every advanced original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specification in the United States. It also meets the requirements of Cummins CES 20076, Mack EO-M Plus, Caterpillar, and Detroit Diesel.

Rotella T is available in drums, 5-gallon pails, gallon jugs and quart bottles through Shell's distributor network, truckstops and retailers nationwide.
