South Dakota gives ag trucks break from restrictions

Trucks that haul hay and livestock feed will get a break from restrictions on height and width in South Dakota under an order issued by Gov. Bill Janklow, The Associated Press reported recently.

The order, which waives the overwidth and overheight restrictions only for trucks carrying baled livestock feed to a destination within South Dakota, is designed to help the state's agriculture industry bounce back from the effects of an ongoing drought.

The order, which would have expired Dec. 31, will now expire March 31.
