Truckers reunited with missing pet

It was a Merry Christmas for an Ohio truckdriving couple after they were reunited with their beloved dog, Emily.

Kathy and Lino Candido lost their 2-year-old basset-Labrador retriever mix near Reno, NV, Dec. 17 when they stopped to take the snow chains off their semi, The Associated Press reported.

The couple searched more than two days, to no avail, before continuing to New Hampshire. While on the road they called the Reno shelter daily and posted a $500 reward for the dog.

About a week later, two children found the dog, and the shelter passed along the merry news to the Candidos on Christmas Eve, The AP reported. The truckers soon after made the more than 2,300-mile trip from New Hampshire to Reno to be reunited with Emily.

The children who found Emily refused the reward, The AP reported.
