Diesel prices steady

The weekly retail on-highway diesel prices released by the Energy Department Monday show the national average cost of diesel remained relatively unchanged from last week at $1.168. The highest prices nationally are found in state of California. Fuel there dipped slightly from a week ago to $1.30.

The lowest average prices are found in the Rocky Mountain region. Diesel there flows for $1.128 per gallon - up slightly from the previous week. The remaining regions' price per gallon is as follows: East Coast, $1.192; New England, $1.291; Central Atlantic, $1.281; Lower Atlantic, $1.145; Midwest, $1.147; Gulf Coast, $1.135; and West Coast, $1.256, respectively.
