Police seek suspect after trucker robbed

Police in Boise, ID, are on the lookout after a man with a handgun robbed a truckdriver at a TravelCenters of America location in the city, The Idaho Statesman reported Dec. 31.

Police described the suspect as 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and slender. He is Hispanic with short black hair, and was wearing a black hat, a brown jacket with green sleeves and jeans, according to local reports.

The Statesman reported that at roughly 12:25 p.m. Dec. 30, the man walked up to a truck behind the travel center and asked the driver, who was in the cab, for help. When the driver got out of the truck, the man pulled out a handgun. He took the driver's wallet and walked toward a nearby hotel.

Police have been unable to locate the suspect. The TravelCenters outlet where the incident occurred is near the Broadway Avenue exit on I-84, on the southeast side of Boise. The driver was not identified.
