The prospect of intense winter weather has states issuing commercial vehicle travel restrictions.
Because of severe winter weather forecast for the weekend, the Penn DOT has issued a commercial vehicle ban for highways in the state.
The ban is scheduled from noon Saturday until noon Sunday on all interstates and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, except for Interstate 95 in southeastern Pennsylvania.
The ban will also include the U.S. 22 expressway in the Lehigh Valley and the Pennsylvania Route 33 expressway in Northampton and Monroe counties.
Here is a map of the restricted highways.
Gov. Tom Wolf declared an emergency on Jan. 18 in advance of the predicted weekend storm.
In addition, speed limits will be restricted to 45 mph on the interstates and expressways as the storm progresses.
On the Indiana Toll Road, according to a Facebook post, a winter weather ban has been declared for triple tractor trailers, long-doubles (high-profile), and high-profile oversize permit loads.
The ban is scheduled from 6 p.m. Eastern on Jan. 18 through 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20.
All other vehicles are permitted.
