From the editor: Comments on are disabled

By Jami Jones, Land Line managing editor | 9/4/2018

Dear Readers,

After much consideration and deliberation, we made the decision to disable comments on

For those who engaged with thoughtful comments and conducted themselves with civility even when disagreeing, we are sorry. Unfortunately, the trend of inappropriate, distasteful and outrageous comments continued to a point that the value of the comments were all but completely diminished.

Rather than continue to waste valuable work hours refereeing petty disputes and removing offensive language, we made the decision to remove the function altogether. This is not a move to stifle your ability to interact with the Land Line Magazine staff or to provide feedback on stories. All thoughtful comments and constructive criticism is welcome.

We would ask that you send comments, news tips and feedback via email to We are also available during work hours if you would like to call us at 816-229-5791. Finally, you also have the ability to engage with Land Line Magazine on Facebook and Twitter. On those public platforms we have the same policy of prohibiting inappropriate and distasteful language. Users who continue to engage in that behavior will be blocked and/or banned.

All that said, if you do have useful feedback, we look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for reading,

Jami Jones
Managing editor
