In California, the jury now has the case of a former trucker who’s charged with second degree murder in connection with a 2012 fuel-siphoning incident. The Stockton Recordreports 35-year-old Percy Levon Brown was allegedly siphoning diesel from a truck when the truck’s owner arrived on the scene.

Alex Bell showed up with his wife and kids, catching Brown in the act. According to the Record, they were dropping him off to work.

Brown then took off in his tractor-trailer, but Bell jumped aboard and opened the passenger door. Prosecutors say when Bell couldn’t hang on, he fell onto the highway and was run over and killed by Brown’s truck.
