OOIDA TRACER ALERT: Truck and trailer stolen from Flying J in Kansas

| 8/31/2009

OOIDA’s TRACER site is reporting the theft of a black and blue 1999 Freightliner Classic and a 2001 Transcraft Superbeam drop-deck trailer from a Flying J in Salina, KS.

The truck has a Kansas tag, unknown license number, and is marked with red chrome letters spelling out “Stauffer Farms, Solomon, Kansas 67480” on the doors.

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that both sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.

Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons, and they can also use the system to report their own stolen property.

Truckers may call the TRACER hotline at 866-950-2291 or visit www.tracersystem.us to get the latest advisory or to report information about stolen cargo or missing persons, etc.
