Monday, January 4, 2010 – Posted at 3:34 p.m. CT – OOIDA’s TRACER program is asking for truckers’ help to find an OOIDA member’s stolen truck.

According to TRACER, a 1999 white Freightliner Century was stolen this week while parked on Lafayette Street in the Bronx, New York City. The truck with a solid white bumper has New Jersey license plate number AL2092 and has truck number 2343 marked on the truck’s body.

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that both sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.

Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons and they can also use the system to report their own stolen property.

Truckers may call the TRACER hotline at 866-950-2291 or visit www.tracersystem.us to get the latest advisory or to report information about stolen cargo or missing persons, etc.
