The Harris County Toll Road Authority is increasing fares starting Saturday, Sept. 12, on two routes in the Houston area.
For five-axle trucks, the average toll increase will be 50 cents to $1 at seven of the access points on the Sam Houston Tollway, Hardy Toll Road and Westpark Tollway. Other access points will remain unchanged, a spokesman said.
“The vast majority of our rates will remain unchanged. In seven areas they will increase,” Spokesman Eric Hanson told Land Line.
Rates for passenger vehicles will go up by a nickel.
The Harris County Toll Road Authority operates a total of 119 miles of limited-access roadways in the Houston area including a set of managed lanes for commuters.
The new rates will be posted Saturday.
