West Virginia cuts truckers some slack on registration fees

In West Virginia, state officials have decided to give truckers a little bit of a financial break in light of the high price of diesel.

The governor’s office and the Department of Motor Vehicles announced on Tuesday, June 3, that they’ll delay for two months the deadline for payment of the annual truck registration fee. Instead of being due July 1, the $1,100 payment for Class 8 trucks will be due by Sept. 1.

A governor’s spokesman said the extension is designed to help truckers manage their expenses.
