After more than 400 people attended a meeting on truck parking in Hesperia, CA, the location of an upcoming public hearing on the issue was moved to a different venue to accommodate what is expected to be another record crowd.
The public hearing has been set for 6:30 p.m. on April 17 at the Hesperia High School. The topic will be the city’s residential parking standards, including revisions of many of the city’s commercial truck parking provisions. These provisions could also affect RV owners in Hesperia.
Following the city’s Planning Commission meeting in February, the commission recommended the following changes, including ending the city’s two-hour truck parking grace period, ending the city’s street parking permit program, requiring trucks and RVs to be parked in the backyard of residences, banning multiple trucks from being parked on a single property, prohibiting parking on a single property on adjacent parking lots, and increasing the minimum lot size required for truck parking.
For Hesperia residents that can’t attend the public meeting, written comments will be accepted before the meeting at the City Clerk’s office. Click here to read the public notice of the meeting. The City of Hesperia’s mailing address is: City of Hesperia, 9700 Seventh Avenue, City Clerk, Hesperia, CA 92345.
