Happy Fourth of July from

| 7/3/2007

From everyone at Land Line Magazine, “Land Line Now” on XM Satellite Radio and OOIDA, we wish you all a safe and enjoyable Independence Day, no matter where the road may take you.

The OOIDA and Land Line offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4. Regular office hours will resume Thursday, July 5.

To celebrate, “Land Line Now” will feature a special re-airing of two stories of patriotism from within the trucking industry, both told by Reed Black.

The first story, “Gun Trucks,” describes the armor-plated, heavily armed trucks that escorted convoys during the Vietnam War. If an enemy ambushed part of the convoy, one or more of the gun trucks would race in and lay down all sorts of suppressing automatic weapons fire.

The second story, “Red Ball Express,” tells the tale of the brave truck drivers – most of whom were black and not allowed to fight on the front lines – who served as a vital supply line between Normandy and Eastern Front during World War II.

Tune in at 7 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday on “Land Line Now” on Channel 171 on XM Satellite Radio. The program will air again at 6 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday July 5.
