Nashville police seek truckers’ help in shooting investigation

Police in Nashville are seeking the help of truckers in locating a person of interest in their investigation of a dead woman whose body was found at a truck stop early Tuesday morning, June 26.

Police say 25-year-old Sara Nicole Hulbert of Ashland City, TN, had been shot to death.

Her body was discovered lying on the grass behind a trailer at the Travel Centers of America on North First Street.

Authorities are looking for a trucker in his 40s or 50s, and is described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall, 200-pound white man with white hair and glasses. Police say he is a “person of interest.”

He’s driving a 2000 or 2001 white Volvo pulling a flatbed, with a large, tan container-type storage unit on the trailer.

Nashville police spokeswoman Kristin Mumford told “Land Line Now” on XM Satellite Radio they’re hoping other truckers may have seen something early Tuesday at the truck stop.

A similar death occurred June 6 at a Pilot truck stop in Lebanon, just east of Nashville.

In that case, a 48-year-old woman who police say had a long history of prostitution arrests was found shot to death.

However, police said Hulbert’s only police record was for minor offenses.

Investigators say they don’t know if the two killings are related.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Nashville Police Department at (615) 862-7044.
