Six months after Pennsylvania State Police found more than $3.5 million worth of cocaine, a truck driver and his Mexican friend face between six and 15 years in prison.

The Progress newspaper in Pennsylvania reported that Arnulfo Perez Uresti of Texas and Hugo Francisco Leal Flores, an illegal alien, were convicted April 11 of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Uresti was behind the wheel and Flores was a passenger in October 2006 when state troopers on Interstate 80 pulled the truck over for speeding.

According to The Progress, troopers found cocaine in the truck’s cab under a metal plate and in the ceiling of the trailer.

Uresti told jurors he was a legal U.S. resident and didn’t know about the cocaine, the newspaper reported.

Flores, an illegal alien, admitted to Pennsylvania State troopers that a man by the name of “Chino” arranged the drug trip and gave the men a cell phone to complete the shipment.
