Truckers heading through Utah face slowdown on I-15

Major highways heading north, west and east out of the Salt Lake Valley will be free from construction activity during the Labor Day weekend. But traffic heading south may find long delays.

The bottleneck is in the Nephi area south of Provo, according to Tom Hudachko, spokesman for the Utah Department of Transportation. I-15 has 12 miles reduced to one lane in each direction.

Hudachko also said a handful of projects underway along U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon between I-15 and Price could cause some slowdowns. His holiday advice: Choose your route carefully and allow plenty of time for slowdowns.
