Reconstruction closes fuel stations on Illinois' I-90

| 8/16/2002

Truckers low on fuel driving along Illinois' Northwest Tollway (I-90) will have to bypass the Des Plaines Oasis and the Belvidere Oasis for the next three months while the two Mobil fuel stations are demolished and rebuilt. Truck parking will not be accessible for the first two months of the project.

Reconstruction, which began Aug. 12, is the first phase of the Illinois Tollway Oases Renovation project. The project will see Mobil stations at all seven of the Northwest Tollway's Oases rebuilt by the end of 2003.

The Mobil service stations in the eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for business while they are demolished and rebuilt. The Oases restaurant operations and buildings will remain open during the reconstruction.
