Eaton service bulletin: Watch for air hose crimp

| 6/7/2002

Recent trucks built with assorted Eaton Fuller Transmission models may be equipped with an airline not properly crimped at the swivel fitting. Eaton says the hose may disconnect while under pressure causing a leak in the secondary air system.

The air hoses in question are plumbed from the A-5000 Slave valve mounted on the driver's side of the transmission to the air filter regulator and range cylinder on the rear of the transmission.

Correction/Action: Inspect all transmission airline fittings on trucks fitting the build date profile below to ensure proper crimping.

Affected Trucks: heavy-duty trucks with RT/RTO/RTLO transmissions with serial number prefix K (example Kxxxxx) built between March 1, 2002 and April 15, 2002.

Warranty Strategy: On affected trucks, Eaton Fuller will allow a half hour labor for inspection and replacement when necessary of the suspect hoses. Warranty claims may be filed through standard OEM warranty procedures.
