Mississippi state trooper has been sentenced for his role in
helping unqualified applicants obtain CDLs. The retired trooper
pleaded guilty last fall to charges of making material false
W. Thompson, formerly with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, was
sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Gulfport to two
years probation and a $1,000 fine. Thompson was charged with
creating bogus CDL test score sheets indicating applicants received
passing scores. The applicants reportedly never took the tests.
