Western Star introduces 4900EX LowMax

| 5/20/2002

Western Star Trucks has a new low-profile version of its 4900EX heavy-duty truck. The 4900EX LowMax has a lowered cab and sleeper height and is loaded with style.

"Western Star's new 4900EX LowMax is designed for those owner-operators who appreciate a high-style truck with low-profile performance possibilities," says John Merrifield, senior vice-president of sales and marketing with Western Star Trucks. "And for owner/operators who enjoy competing in truck beauty contests, the LowMax is a genuine contender for best-of-show."

The LowMax has traditional styling with its own distinctive flair. Chrome and stainless steel accessories complement the truck's look and drivers can select premium interior trim packages from a number of available options.

Cab height on the LowMax is almost a foot lower than standard. With its lowered step height, the LowMax gives the operator easy access to the cab and a lower center of gravity for better road handling and stability. The LowMax has a minimum overall height just over 104 inches -- with the cab lights and horns removed and with low-profile 275/70 R22.50-inch tires.

Standard equipment includes a 1,300-square inch cross-flow radiator for optimum engine cooling, a 6.38-inch ride height AirLiner rear suspension, and Dana Spicer front axle. The dual 6-inch exhaust stacks feature horizontal low-noise mufflers.

The 4900EX LowMax is now available from Western Star dealers in the United States and Canada.
