Hearing set in attorneys' quest to question Pilot CEO

The Knox County Circuit Court’s office has confirmed that a hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Pilot Flying J case, which was originally scheduled for Aug. 30.

All pending motions will be heard at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Knoxville, Tenn., regarding Atlantic Coast Carriers Inc.’s lawsuit against Pilot Flying J, as well as the Harold David Story Inc. lawsuit. Lawyers in both cases have filed motions seeking to schedule top Pilot executive Jimmy Haslam to testify or give evidence under oath about the alleged fuel rebate fraud scheme that rocked the truck stop chain in April.

In mid-July, attorneys for Pilot filed motions to stay the proceedings and prevent Pilot CEO James “Jimmy” Haslam III, as well as two other executives and Pilot spokesman Tom Ingram of the Ingram Group, from being deposed.
