Dallas trucker Jabin Bogan, 27, has been released from a prison in Veracruz, Mexico. On Friday it was reported he was at an immigration detention facility awaiting deportation.
Bogan spent seven months in prison in Mexico after making a wrong turn in El Paso, TX, and crossing into Mexico with a load of ammunition. Bogan was arrested by Mexican customs agents on the Mexican side of the Bridge of the Americas in Juarez, on April 17.
He was originally charged with smuggling, but that was reduced to possession of ammunition – a much lesser crime in Mexico.
Bogan’s family was expected to pay a fine for his release, but the amount was undisclosed.
WFAA-TVreports his family has traveled to the border for a reunion.
