Here’s a heads up if you run on your own authority and travel any of your miles in Kansas. The state has begun mailing out annual property tax bills to motor carriers. Bills began going out on Wednesday, Aug. 1, to those subject to pay the state’s ad valorem tax.
If you receive a bill and have questions, there are places to turn for information – including your association, OOIDA, as well as contacts at the state of Kansas.
You can call the Property Valuation Division of the Kansas Department of Revenue at 785-296-2365, send an email to pvd_mctax@kdor.ks.gov or send a fax to 1-877-533-2120.
Here is a link to frequently asked questions about the program.
