Friday, July 31, 2009 – Posted at 12:19 p.m. CST – Authorities in Ocala, FL, say a thief or thieves have stolen a dry van with reefer unit while it was parked at a truck stop.
According to OOIDA’s TRACER program, a white 2005 Utility trailer with reefer unit was taken Thursday, July 30, while it was parked at the Baxley Travel Plaza. The trailer has “Rodhe Trucking” on its rear doors and sides, as well as trailer number 5002.
The trailer’s California license plate reads 4HZ1410.
The trailer was reported stolen to TRACER Friday.
TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that both sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.
Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons and they can also use the system to report their own stolen property.
Truckers may call the TRACER hotline at 866-950-2291 or visit www.tracersystem.us to get the latest advisory or to report information about stolen cargo or missing persons, etc.
