With so many government agencies, it can be difficult to keep up with everything that is going on. The Online Education website also includes information on what to expect in the near future.

U.S. government agencies are required to study and publish new notices of proposed rulemakings (NPRM) involving key issues. The OOIDA Foundation compiles these notices, NPRMs and final rules with a brief summary and a link to the Federal Register. The website also instructs truckers on how to submit comments on proposed regulations to the Federal Register.

To access the latest upcoming issues, visit the Online Education homepage and click the yellow “Learn More” button below “What’s Coming Down the Road” at the bottom of the page.

Another useful tool for truckers is the mobile app. OOIDA offers several smartphone apps, which can be found on the online education website. Available apps include:

Cost Per Mile – Use this app to figure your cost of operations per mile;

Fuel Surcharge Calculator – This app is a tool to assist you in knowing the “freight rate” you need to move your truck;

OOIDA 2290 – ExpressTruckTax and OOIDA present the easiest way for OOIDA members to e-file heavy vehicle use taxes using the Form 2290;

Winter Chain Laws – This app provides you with the most current chain laws;

TruckerDox – Lets users sign, scan, save and invoice, as well as create a carrier packet that can be shared with customers;

Find Truck Service – Makes it easy and fast to locate truck breakdown services including mobile repair and road service; truck repair shops; trailer and tire repair services; towing and recovery services; and truck and trailer OEM dealers;
