For some folks, even though they’re off the road, it’s still in their blood and they dream of the day when they can truck again.
Thanks to Arrow Truck Sales, one lucky former trucker will have that wish come true.
Arrow Truck Sales has kicked off its Back on the Road 2009 campaign, presented by Volvo Trucks North America. Joining the 2009 campaign is country music star Aaron Tippin.
Now in its second year, Back on the Road is an initiative designed to benefit a deserving trucker in need of a truck and a job.
Beginning in November, Arrow will solicit stories from truckers across the nation who lost their truck, and their livelihood, through circumstances beyond their control.
Arrow invites people to visit backontheroad2009.com and nominate friends, family members, associates and even themselves for this opportunity. Nominations will be accepted from Nov. 3 through Jan. 16, 2009.
Applications should include a compelling 250-word story explaining why the person deserves to win. Stories about family loss, loss from natural disaster, or a recent return from military service could all be considered valid story submissions.
The trucker whose story is selected will receive a 2006 VNL 670, courtesy of Volvo Trucks North America; a one-year work agreement with Heartland Express; and other products and services.
Arrow will announce the winner in March 2009 and present the truck and other prizes during the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY. LL
